My Story
From leading teams of researchers to study the effects of land management strategies on Anurans, to teaching introductory courses to environmental and plant biology students, I am committed to scientific excellence and disseminating information for public consumption and use.
As a researcher at Ohio University, I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with an array of organizations and groups. Working in the Ohio University Conservation Biology Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Viorel Popescu I had the chance to work on a variety of projects, including a departmental honors thesis. I investigated Anuran community occupancy dynamics in Southeast Ohio's Wayne National Forest in partnership with the United States Forest Service and the Ohio University Wildlife Club. I also explored the impact of prescribed burning on salamanders in WNF.
I worked at Ohio State University as a Biological Field Station Assistant at Stone Laboratory. As a Biological Field Station Assistant I worked to educate children and OSU undergraduates about biology, ecology, and conservation, assisted in research programs, and maintained the island grounds and facilities.
I currently work for Beardsley Zoo as a Zoo Educator where I work to promote sustainable action and conservation, and educate the community about the work of the zoo and the AZA.
